55+ Active Aging Forum that was for the first time ever organized in Yelabuga municipal district was coincided with International Day of Older Persons. The Forum opened on 2 October 2017 would last for three days. Participants of the Forum are allowed to choose among a wide variety of activities - from preconference workshops to special events to general and regular sessions: “Health and Healthy lifestyle”, “Fashion and Beauty”, “World of Entertainments”, “Education” and other.
Annual Free Legal Assistance Day will be held on 6 October 2017 in all towns and municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Each citizen of Tatarstan that need aid and advice in legal matters can appeal to territorial bodies and social service institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as local district administrations and multipurpose centers.
Several meetings with senior clients of the Complex Social Service Centre coincided with International Day of Older Persons were recently held in Tukayevo municipal district. Gulnara Benini, psychologist of the Centre, informed participants of the meetings about relaxation techniques that can aid elderly individuals in reducing the amount of stress that they feel.
An annual social action Autumn Week of Good Deeds was started in the beginning of October in all the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. In Buinsk the initiative was supported by social workers of Home Care Department of the Complex Social Service Centre, activists of local volunteers’ divisions and schoolchildren who took part in several charitable actions.
4 October 2017, an employment fair for senior citizens and people with disabilities coincided with International Day of Older Persons will be held within the walls of the Employment Center in municipal district of Nizhnekamsk.
Elmira Zaripova, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan has visited today Salima Mukhamadeyeva and Ismagil Sirayev, long-lived persons – residents of Kazan that recently celebrated their 90-th anniversaries.
Due to work performed by the Republican Inter-Departmental Commission for Living Standards, Labour and Foreign Workers in the Republic of Tatarstan in October 2017, 54 workers of OOO IK carrying out its activities in the territory of Muslyumovsky municipal district were paid out wages for an overall amount of 425 000 rubles.

26 – 29 September 2017, Kazan Expo Exhibition Center hosted an annual Active Aging Expo for senior citizens. The agenda of the meeting included interactive question/answer sessions, health screenings, activity demonstrations and specialized recruitment fair for senior citizens. The employment fair was held in cooperation with HR-specialists from 32 local enterprises and organizations.
The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year.
The first of October is a wonderful opportunity to once again show elementary attention and care to give place to public transport, help an old lady cross the road, to call their grandpa and grandma or to do any other act of kindness, because this date is dedicated to the worldwide Day of elderly people.
