World Sight Day, observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global event meant to draw attention on blindness and vision impairment as well as to create accessible environment for such people to ensure their full-fledged life.
It should be noted that nowadays there are 8 000 sight-disabled persons live in the Republic of Tatarstan, 1 400 of them live in the capital of Tatarstan – Kazan.
Taking into account social significance of the issue, several cultural and social events with participation of non-government organizations, Tatar regional organization of all-Russian social organizations of disabled persons will be organized in municipal districts and urban districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.
