First Republican Checks and Chess Tournament

The First Republican Checks and Chess Tournament among residents of care homes for senior citizens and people with disabilities and psychoneurologic dispensaries of the Republic of Tatarstan has been recently held in the Central Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve.

There were 16 teams representing cities and municipal raions of the Republic of Tatarstan that took part in the Tournament. Each team consisted of 2 players, one of them played checks, the other – chess. The Tournament was organized in accordance with the “Swiss system” of 7 tours with 10 minutes time control before the end of the game for each player. The team rating was determined by total points got by each player.

In team scoring the victory was secured by the team of Kazan psychoneurologic dispensary that got 10,5 points from 14 possible. The team of Zelenodolsk psychoneurologic dispensary became second with 10 points got. The third prize went to the residential care facility for senior citizens and people with disabilities in Nurlaty.
