Pets' corner for senior citizens

A “pets’ corner on wheels” was organized in the residential care facility for senior citizens and people with disabilities by its workers and specialists of local ecological-biological centre. The event was held in the frames of Therapeutic Power of Nature launched in Yelabuga and coincided with the Decade of People with Disabilities.

According to the specialists, social isolation of residents of the care home that do not have any possibility to leave the territory of the care home and lack of relationships with people around can result in depression and stress.

The children presented the senior citizens with paper flowers made by their own hands and explained how to tend for pets.
