On December 3rd, we celebrate International Day of Disabled Persons. This is a special day designed to draw public attention to the problems of government with disabilities, protection of their rights and dignity.
Today, in the Republic of Tatarstan there are more than 320,000 people with disabilities, 14,000 of them - children. State more and more attention is paid to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities. One of the priority areas of social policy, implemented in Tatarstan, is to assist in solving the pressing problems of the disabled, their participation in social, political, and cultural life of the country, employment and vocational training.
Many objectives have been successfully achieved through the implementation of the federal program "Accessible Environment." Tatarstan was one of three "pilot" sites, where people with disabilities are actively create comfortable living conditions. To this end, in the last year has been adapted more than 100 sites in 17 municipalities of the country. Until the end of 2012 work on the adaptation of objects completed in all 45 municipalities of the country. I note all the objects have been selected on the proposals of public organizations of disabled persons in 8 priority areas of life. The program paid attention to all categories of disabled persons.
During his time on the program are available are 12 sports venues of the country. Here there are all conditions for adaptive physical education and sport, sporting events involving people with disabilities.
A special place in the socialization of people with disabilities is to engage in employment self-realization. As part of measures to create more specialized jobs for people with disabilities in 2012 was allocated 17.6 million rubles - this means that 352 people will receive their individual workplace.
Annual Charity decade in December - is only a little bit of care, participation, which should get disabled from our society permanently. They need our attention, not only once a year - in the decade of disabled persons, but every day.
Let our business help courageous people, at least temporarily forget about the difficulties. We are doing everything to ensure that their hearts were filled with warmth and confidence in the future.
