Garden therapy - Better Living Through Plants Programme in Tetyushsky municipal district

The relationship between green spaces and human health and wellbeing is widely acknowledged and in recent years, there have been increasing calls for ‘social and therapeutic horticulture’ to be prescribed by health professionals.

According to specialists, gardening can have a positive effect on physical and mental health, social skills and well-being of vulnerable adults. The Better Living Through Plants Programme implemented in the residential care facility for senior citizens and people with disabilities of Tetyushsky municipal district offers social and therapeutic horticulture to adults with a range of physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
