Songs embracing hope - 7 famous Soviet songs from Great Patriotic war
This year Russia will commemorate 73 years since the Allied victory over Nazi Germany. The day will be marked by a huge parade through the center of Moscow, as well as in all cities and towns throughout the country. Another way in which Russian people remember the Great Patriotic War is through songs. In Mendeleyevsk municipal district, Natalya Scherbakova, specialist in social work of the Complex Social Service Centre will organize a musical evening devoted to famous Soviet songs from Great Patriotic war.
The event was started with a short historical note about origin and authors of the most renowned songs from the war years – songs whose popularity helped to inspire the Soviet Union in its fight against Nazi Germany. Cranes, Dark Is The Night, Oh, The Roads..., Katyusha, Dark-Skinned Girl, Sacred War, Victory Day – each song is proved to be a masterpiece with its own life and history.
