Elmira Zaripova promises to respect electoral rights of citizens with disabilities at polling places in Tatarstan
Weekly briefing devoted to elections of the Russian Federation President has been held today in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to information provided by Elmira Zaripova, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, 288 321 residents of voting age are about to implement their electoral rights on 18 March 2018. Among them there are 6 733 persons with sight disability, 6 207 persons with hearing disabilities, 7 439 wheelchair users.
According to the speaker, there are 65 territorial election commissions established in all municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan and urban district Kazan. All of them have working groups aimed to secure electoral rights of citizens with disabilities.
All territorial election commissions are provided with informational booklets and ballot-papers printed inBraille script, 290 polling booths are accepted for wheel-chair users.
