World AIDS Day in municipal district of Bugulma

Several events coincided with World AIDS Day were held last week by Albina Titova and Elena Krutyakova, specialists in social work of the Complex Social Service Centre in municipal district of Bugulma. The aim of the events was to present information on sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV/AIDS prevention and care system.
According to specialists, such events contribute to STI prevalence and prevention programs among youth, equal opportunities and access to screening and medical care for various groups of the population, overcoming stigma and discrimination in regards to HIV/AIDS patients, the various approaches to reaching target audiences, and using new media and educational campaigns as prevention methods.
