Special suicide prevention training for 11 children from families at risk that possess difficulties in social adaptation was recently held by psychologist of the Social Assistance Department of the Complex Social Service Centre in Menzelinsk.
The children were informed about the main factors leaded to suicide. The psychologist pointed out that the teenagers faced pressures to succeed and fit in. They usually struggled with self-esteem issues, self-doubt, and feelings of alienation. Depression was also named as a major risk factor for teen suicide. In the end of the training the children were armed with practical suggestions how to help someone who was suicidal and save a life.
