100 000 rubles fines for late payment of wages or non-payment of salaries imposed in Tatarstan

Elmira Zaripova, the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan at the press conference held in News Agency “Tatar-inform” announced about changes to legislation made to protect employees in case of late payment of wages or non-payment of salaries. Among them were named: imposing fines on employers up to 100 000 rubles, increasing of compensation for late payment of wages for employees, extension of the limitation period up to one year.

As it was underlined by the Minister, the main purpose of the Federal Act№ 272On amendments to a number of legislative acts of the Russian Federation concerning employers' liability for violation of labour legislation signed on 3 July 2016wastoprotect employees from unfair employers. The Act will come into effect on 3 October 2016.
