Within a five-day working week, the 30 and 31 December 2012, 1 - January 8, 2013 are days off

Due to the numerous appeals of citizens on the days-off in December 2012, and January 2013, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan said:

“In accordance with Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays are:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 January - New Year holidays;

          January 7 - Christmas Day.

         In 2013, public holidays on 5 and 6 January to coincide with the days off - Sunday and Saturday“.

According to the above article of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation at the coincidence output and public holidays, the holiday postponed to the next working day after the holiday, except for weekends, coinciding with non-working holidays in January.

In this case, it is provided that the Government of the Russian Federation has the right to transfer the weekend, including two days off from the weekend coinciding with non-working holidays in January, on other days in the current calendar year.

So, for the rational management of holidays and public holidays, there are regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 20, 2011 № 581 "On the transfer of public holidays in 2012," and from 15.10.2012 - № 1048 "On the transfer of public holidays in 2013"

the following weekends were moved:

from Saturday 29 December 2012. - On Monday 31 December 2012.;

from Saturday 5 January 2013. - Sunday May 2 2013.;

from Sunday 6 January 2013. - On Friday 3 May 2013.

The duration of work on Saturday, December 29, 2012 reduced by one hour, because of the procedure of calculation of working time rules to the certain calendar periods of time (month, quarter, year), depending on your working hours in a week, approved by Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in 13.08.2009 № 588n, in cases when in accordance with the Government's decision a day carried on the business day, the duration of this day (the former output) should correspond to the length of the working day, for which a public holiday was moved.

Thus, the 30 and 31 December 2012, 1 - January 8, 2013 are days of rest (with a five-day week).

If necessary, employers can organize the work on weekends and public holidays in the manner and subject suitable to the conditions provided in the Articles 113 and 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
