In connection with numerous appeals of citizens on issues of New Year's holidays, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan informs about the following.
In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 14, 2017 No. 1250 “On the Transfer of Public Holidays in 2018”, the day off from Saturday December 29 is postponed to Monday, December 31
According to Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the duration of a working day or shift immediately preceding a non-working holiday is reduced by one hour. Consequently, the working day of December 29, 2018 is reduced by one hour.
In accordance with Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays in January are:
January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 - New Year holidays;
January 7 - Christmas.
In 2019, non-working holidays on January 5 and 6 coincide with weekends - Saturday and Sunday.
In accordance with Part 2 of Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 1, 2018 No. 1163 “On the Transfer of Weekends in 2019” the following days were postponed:
from Saturday 5 January to Thursday 2 May;
from Sunday, January 6 to Friday, May 3.
Thus, in December 2018 and January 2019, for those having five-day working week schedule, December 30 and 31, 2018, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 January 2019 are days - off.
