Children and bad language – what are the limits?

2 August 2018, social teacher Liliya Aitova organized a regular meeting for clients of the Complex Social Service Centre. The meeting was devoted to bad language issues. The aim of the lesson was to give parents tips to prevent bad language and teach their children to communicate more effectively.

According to specialist, teens can be using bad language for a number of reasons. One of them may be to simply push their parents’ buttons. Teens like to feel they are in control and by swearing in front of their parent, they are simply testing the boundaries, seeing exactly how far they can go. Sometimes teens just need to have the boundaries set for them in a clear manner.
