Best bird nesting box competition

Yakov Lukyanenko – labour instructor of the social shelter for minors in Bugulminsky municipal district offered fosterlings of the shelter to start a nest box week, the event which is asking residents of Bugulma o put up nest boxes to help breeding birds and other wildlife. The author of the idea says that the natural nest sites on which many of our bird species depend, such as holes in trees and buildings, are fast disappearing as gardens and woods are 'tidied' and old houses are repaired.

Prior to the Campaign start several lessons on ecology was given to children who knew a lot of interesting facts about birds and wildlife.
