Safety meeting devoted to spring flood-time
Annual safety meeting devoted to seasonal flood was recently organized by specialists in social work of the Complex Social Service Centre for its clients in Spassky municipal district.
The aim of the meeting was to inform senior people and people with disabilities about who to stay safe during snow-melt flood period. Participants of the fair were informed about the main the causes of floods and factors which intensify floods in Volga basin – melting snow and spring rainfalls. All the participants were provided with informational booklets.
Actions taken by the authorities during season flood periods were discussed in the end of the meeting – conducting evacuations, establishing emergency shelters, operationalized evacuation centres, providing relief assistance to affected families, carrying out search and rescue operations in highly – inundated areas.
