Elabuga’s psychologists shared their experience in attracting volunteers to work on the prevention of use of psychoactive substances and the promotion of a healthy way of life

In Elabuga held a republican seminar "Methodology of classes on the prevention of use of psychoactive substances and the promotion of a healthy way of life with the involvement of voluntary initiatives". Its organizers were the Ministry of labour, employment and social protection of the republic of TATARSTAN, elabuga center of socio-psychological assistance to the population "Ariadna" and inter-regional volunteer movement of the RT "Volunteer".

In the course of the seminar the center's psychologists shared with colleagues and from the institutions of social protection of Almetyevsk, Chistopol, Fishing Settlement, Tuliachi and other cities of the republic of experience of work in the field of prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drug use among children and young people, conducted a training session on the program A.M.. Karpova "Step by Step ".

According to the director of the centre "Ariadna" Natalia Safronova, engaging in preventive work of volunteers is one of the most effective ways to improve the quality of prevention. By world practice it has been long proved that the work on the principle of "equal to equal", when children and teenagers are involved in the students, the most effectively. This is also confirmed by the experience of the "Ariadna": only in 2011 due to attraction of volunteers in Elabuga prevention was covered by 2237 man.

The theme of the interaction with the volunteers continued coordinator DMD RT "Volunteer "Robert Khalikov. This year the volunteers have won the grant contest of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic of TATARSTAN and began to create on the basis of the centers of "Volunteer "the office for the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drugs. The first such department has already started work on the basis of the center of social service of the population Menzelinsk.

In his opinion, one prevention classes and lectures of the situation does not change, we need a serious and systematic work, adolescents and young people is needed is an alternative to drinking and smoking, positive values. Volunteering, based on the mutual respect, active life position, where there is no place alcohol, tobacco and drugs, as time is a real and very effective alternative to the "street" pastime.

A special guest of the meeting - the head of public organization "the Sober Almetyevsk", a social teacher of teen core club "Saulyk" Vladimir Fahreev conducted a master-class "How to make so that my child does not become a drug addict". In a living dialogue, to clear all the examples and figures he showed the harmfulness of alcohol. He noted that the involvement of the volunteer efforts can significantly help in reducing the number of young people, who may become the victims of these dependencies.
