In connection with numerous references of citizens, concerning non-working holidays in January in 2012, the Ministry of Labour, employment and social protection of the Republic of Tatarstan informs.
According to the article 112 of the Labour code of the Russian Federation non-working holidays are:
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 th on January are New Year's vacation; on January, 7th – Christmas.
In 2012 non-working holidays coincide on January, 1st and 7 with the days off – Sunday and Saturday. According to the above-stated article of the Labour code of the Russian Federation at coincidence target and non-working celebratory days the day off is transferred on following after celebratory working day. Accordingly, the day off since January, 1st of 2012 year is transferred for January, 6th 2012 year, the day off since January, 7th 2012 year – for January, 9th 2012 year.
Thus, at five-day working week in 2012 on January, 1st-9th are days of rest.
If necessary employers can organize work in target and non-working holidays is perfectly in order and on the conditions provided by the articles 113 and 153 of Labour codes of the Russian Federation.
