27 – 31 August 2018, “World of Equal Opportunities” Campaign was started in town of Naberezhnye Chelny. The aim of the Campaign is to attract public attention to disabled employment issue, develop social partnership in the best interests of people with disabilities.
Nowadays, there are two major approaches to promote the employment of persons with disabilities—the quota system and antidiscrimination legislation—although variations exist within each approach. Under the quota system, enterprises of a certain size and entities in the public sector have a legal obligation to employ a specified percentage of persons with disabilities in their labor force. If an enterprise or a public entity does not fulfill the legally mandated quota, it will be required to pay a specified amount to a fund, which is earmarked for promoting the employment of persons with disabilities.
