Day of Athlete in care home of Alkeyevo municipal district

Another sports event coincided with the Day of Athlete have been held today in the residential care facility for senior citizens and people with disabilities in Alkeyevo municipal district.

The main aim of the event was to promote healthy life style, love towards sports activities and active aging.

The history of this festival dates back to the first decades of the USSR. The Day of the Athlete was introduced with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1939. Even a child knew the slogan «In a healthy body - a healthy mind!».
