Elmira Zaripova meets with participants of Bicycle race BLIND RACE Astana-Paris

13 August 2018, Bicycle race BLIND RACE Astana-Paris started on August 4 in Astana (the Republic of Kazakhstan), its participants - cycling athletes with visual impairments, have already overcome more than 1800 kilometers and are currently in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan - the city of Kazan. 7 tandem cycles take part in the bicycle race, it passes through 6 countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany and France.

Most part of the race around (2700 km) passes through Russia. Participants of the race have already visited the cities of Troitsk (Chelyabinsk region), Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan), Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan). Further on the route follow (August 14) the city of Shorchekasy (Republic of Chuvashia), (August 16) Nizhny Novgorod (Nizhny Novgorod region), (August 17) Vladimir (Vladimir region), (August 19) Moscow and (August 22) Smolensk (Smolensk region).

The cycling marathon is held under the slogan "The World of Unlimited Opportunities!" And aims at promoting a healthy and positive way of life, popularizing cycling, and developing social ecotourism, creating conditions for the development of sport among people with disabilities, and developing Paralympic sports.

On the way, there are round tables with the participation of sports officials, heads of sports schools, representatives of public organizations and public figures. For participants of the race festive and bright greetings are organized.

Organizational support for the race is provided by the regional offices of the Russian Paralympic Committee and regional executive bodies in the field of physical culture and sports.
