Spring and Labour Day in Tatarstan

Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan informs about the following.

In accordance with Article 112 of the Labour Code of the Russian Federation the 1st of May - Spring and Labour Day and the 9th of May – Victory Day are declared to be nonworking days (holidays).

With an eye on efficient use of weekends and nonworking days the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1250 from 14 October 2017 “About substitute holidays in 2018” was adopted. According to the Decree, a weekend day falling on 7 January 2018 was transferred to 2 May 2018, as well as a weekend day falling on 28 April 2018 was transferred to 30 April 2018.

In keeping with Article 95 of the Labour Code of the Russian Federation, the length of the working day or shift directly preceding a public holiday shall be reduced by one hour.

In continuous-process organizations and in individual types of works not permitting the reduction of the length of the work (shift) on the eve of a holiday, the overtime is compensated by additional time of rest granted to the employee or, with his consent, payment according to the norms specified for overtime work.
