“Feeding Birds in Winter - Tips and Tricks” – Ecological event if social shelter for minors in Nizhnekamsk

14 December 2017, Thursday

According to specialists in social work of Nizhnekamsk Social Shelter for minors, feeding birds in winter can be rewarding and enjoyable in the midst of chilly weather. By understanding which birds are around in winter and what they need to eat, both novice and experienced backyard birders make the most of their feeders during the coldest months of the year.

The children learned a lot about dozens of different backyard bird species that visit Tatarstan in winter time - finches, sparrows, titmice, jays, woodpeckers, chickadees and cardinals, pine grosbeaks, evening grosbeaks and red crossbills. With their own hands they designed several easy birdfeeders such as hopper and platforms.
